iMonitor Showcased at OECD’s Global Anti-Corruption Initiative Event
We are thrilled to share that iMonitor was recently presented at the webinar “Leveraging Emerging Technologies to Tackle Integrity Risks,” organised by the OECD’s Global Initiative to Galvanize the Private Sector as Partners in Combatting Corruption (GPS). Our scientific director, Dr. Mihály Fazekas, participated in the panel titled “How Can Control and Audit Functions Better Leverage Emerging Technologies to Contribute to Managing Integrity Risks in the Procurement of Infrastructure?”
At the event, Dr. Fazekas showcased iMonitor’s unique approach, combining data-driven risk assessments with civil society engagement to identify and mitigate corruption risks in public procurement. He highlighted how our approach addresses an essential gap in the control and audit functions to manage integrity risks in public procurement, namely data gaps in the contract implementation phase. Our civic monitoring networks in Catalonia (Spain), Italy, Lithuania and Romania collaborate with oversight and law enforcement bodies to collect information on the implementation of high-risk contracts and report potential irregularities to the public partners supporting the project in those countries.
The GPS event was part of the Public-Private Dialogue on the Implementation of Anti-Corruption Measures in Infrastructure Projects and brought together key stakeholders from the private sector, government, and academia. We are proud to have iMonitor as a central part of this global conversation.
Stay tuned for more updates on iMonitor!
